Welcome to the website of the Texas Tech Academy of Student
Pharmacists, the student academy of the American Pharmacists Association
and Texas Pharmacy Association.
About Us:
Our mission is to be the collective voice of our members, to
provide opportunities for professional growth, and to envision and
actively promote the future of pharmacy at the local, state, and
national level.
History: The American Pharmacists Association (APhA), founded in
1852, represents the third largest health profession and is
composed of more than 60,000 members including
practicing pharmacists,
pharmaceutical scientists, student pharmacists, pharmacy technicians,
and others interested in advancing the profession.
APhA is a leader in furthering the professional and scientific
advancement of pharmacy, in advocating the value of patient care, and in
safeguarding the nation’s public health. APhA-ASP represents more
than 30,000 student pharmacists as their primary voice in their chosen
profession. Each of the 101 schools and colleges of pharmacy in the
United States and Puerto Rico has an APhA-ASP chapter.
