Regent's
Message
The foundation
of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity is based on Brotherhood.
We pride ourselves in supporting each other academically,
professionally, and socially. Being a Brother in Kappa Psi is a
wonderful way to get involved in the pharmacy profession while
making friendships that will last a lifetime.
Welcome to the Texas Tech
University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy. Since you
have chosen to become a prospective practitioner of the
time-honored profession of Pharmacy, it is important that you
further develop your person as well as your knowledge. The
foundation of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity is based on
Brotherhood. We pride ourselves in supporting each other
academically, professionally, and socially. Being a Brother in
Kappa Psi is a wonderful way to get involved in the pharmacy
profession while making friendships that will last a lifetime
The Delta Pi Chapter of Kappa Psi was founded in 1997. Since
then we have had a strong history of commitment to leadership,
community service, and fun times too.
Leadership
Our Brothers maintain a strong presence on campus. Many of our
Brothers actively serve to improve the pharmacy profession and
hold leadership roles in other student organizations. Kappa Psi,
Delta Pi chapter has a strong history of holding leadership
positions at the local and national levels in NCPA, Phi Lambda
Sigma Leadership Society, Rho Chi Honor Society, Student Senate,
APhA-ASP and TTSSHP.
Community Service
Our Brothers also maintain a strong presence in the community.
Some of our community service projects include cooking for the
Ronald McDonald House, collecting donations for the High Plains
Food Bank, volunteering at the Eveline River’s Christmas
Project, cholesterol and blood pressure screenings at The
American Heart Association Walk, and health screenings and
immunizations at various health fairs. Currently we are
organizing work days with Habitat for Humanity, health
screenings at various health fairs, and a team to participate in
the American Heart Association Walk.
Social Activities
Our Brothers have a lot of fun together too! We love to
celebrate birthdays by holding monthly dinners. It has also
become our tradition to host the school wide Halloween Party.
During the past spring semester we hosted a school wide toga
party. Bowling is a large part of our social activities, as are
other sports activities. Our annual Scavenger Hunt provides an
opportunity for new members to learn about their fraternity and
for old members to brush up on what they may have forgotten. The
Scavenger Hunt provides the opportunity for brothers to make
friendships that will last a lifetime. We also have the distinct
privilege of hosting the annual Province VII meeting in Dallas
in Spring of 2008. Many Kappa Psi students and graduate members
will be in attendance. This will be an awesome opportunity for
networking with other Kappa Psi members.
I hope that each one of you will seriously consider becoming a
member of Kappa Psi. Thank you for taking the time to learn
about our chapter.
