Military Doctor Mentor Program

    Texas Tech HSC and University Medical Center has many doctors who have served or are currently serving in the military.  Using their knowledge and experience in the military medical field, we are establishing a Mentor Program where MMSA members can sign up to shadow these physicians.

    Currently, we are compiling a list of willing doctors with military experience to post on this webpage.  Once established, MMSA members wishing to shadow a doctor in a particular specialty will contact the Vice President to sign up.  This will ensure that no one doctor is overwhelmed with students and that everyone has a chance to shadow in their specialty of choice. 

    Shadowing military doctors allows MMSA members to better understand the uniqueness of military medicine (specifically in their specialty of choice), receive advice from leaders/former leaders in various military specialties, and tap into the network of military physicians.

    Keep checking this page as the program develops.  Also, if you know of a doctor at TTUHSC/UMC with military experience who would be interested in mentoring MMSA members, please submit thier name, specialty, branch, and contact information to the Vice President.
