There are many commercial and free web editor tools are available to create and design a webpage. Microsoft Expression Web is available to all students, faculty, staff and departments of the Texas Tech University System from Microsoft Campus Agreement. To download this tool you will need an eRaider log in account. You will also need a valid eRaider to publish your web pages.
Requests for a web space are made online via the Student Web site. You must have an eRaider account to apply for and use student server web space.
Student web sites and/or web pages are considered "unofficial" and must be identified as such with the Notice of Disclaimer for Unofficial Pages prominently displayed in the footer section per TTUHSC IT Policy 9.1.5.
All student web sites and/or web pages must also include a link to the TTUHSC home page as well as the site/page owner's name and email address per TTUHSC IT Policy 9.1.9.

You can create your web pages on your local computer using your preferred web editor tools then connect to your web site and upload your finished web pages to the server using Microsoft Expression Web. Any changes you make will be automatically saved to the live version upon uploading.
Once your request has been processed, you will be given a URL (HTTP location) for your web site space. Typically it will follow this naming scheme:
For the Personal Web Page URL, replace USERNAME with the username supplied when you obtained the account. Use this URL to view your web page in a browser. If you forget or lose your URL, you can get to it by browsing to http://student.ttuhsc.edu/ and clicking on your name or organization's name from the web sites lists.
A homepage is the entry page to your website. It is the starting point where the other pages are linked.
If your site won't display after you published it, check to ensure your homepage is named correctly. You will need to replace any temporary file that was created with the same name when your request for the webspace was processed.
URL is an abbreviation for "Uniform Resource Locator." It is the website address that you type in to access a website. For example, http://www.ttuhsc.edu is the URL for Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. When you apply for web space with TTUHSC, you will be given a URL with which you and others can access your website. See "Location of Your Website" for clarification on how this pertains to your site.
