March 23: MSG is having Morning Medical School Mingle!!! On Friday, March 23, 2007 at 8:15 to 9:00 in ACB.

AMSA meeting with Dr. Patterson who will talk: "Poverty, Greed, and Health of Children."

Monday 26: Health Law Program is screening "Thank you for Smoking" in ACB 150 at 6:30pm. Dinner, beverages and a Best Buy gift certificate raffle.

Tuesday 27: Suture Clinic by Surgery and Orthopaedics Clubs. From 5-7pm in Histo lab.

Friday 30: International Medicine/Multcultural Club meeting presenting "Salud" at noon in ACB 150.

Saturday 31: Miles for Melanoma will be heldon Texas Tech's campus. Registration will begin at 6PM and the race begins at sundown. Registration is $30 and includes a t-shirt, snacks, and the entry fee. All proceeds will benefit the Melanoma Research Foundation. Friday 1: Student Holiday Reception 11:30 to 1pm at Synergistic Center and bring one canned good or $1.oo to donate to South Plains Food Bank. Food, door prizes and fun!

               AMSA is having a meeting with speakers from South Plains AIDS Resource Center and Department of Health come speak to us about local AIDS 12-1pm. They will have pizza.

Saturday 2: "Anatomy of Trauma" course at Covenant Health System from 7:00am - 4:15pm. It is taught as continuing education for MDs, RNs and EMTs.  The course is presented as cadaver dissections correlated with radiographs and clinical experiences followed by Q&A for each body region. The cost is $10 for students and you can pay at the door.  Breakfast is included but not lunch.  Call 806-725-0476 for more information and to make your reservation!

Monday 4: Welcome reception for incoming Chancellor Kent Hance in the Academic Classroom Building Foyer at 4:30pm.

Friday 8: Ob/Gyn meeting in 5B148B. Dr. Blackwell will be presenting on the history of the sonogram followed by a live sonogram viewing with his patients.

Tuesday 12: MSG is sponsoring a Christmas Ice Skating party from 8-10 pm at Texas Tech Municipal Auditorium!!! Be there.

                    International Medicine and Multicultural Club meeting. Guest speaker is Ambassador Nagy. He graduated from Texas Tech University and pursued government affairs, working as a U.S. Ambassador to Guinea and Ethiopia. His discussion will address HIV/AIDS and other endemic diseases associated with high HIV infection rates. Ambassador Nagy will also address humanitarian and government efforts that have both succeeded and failed to address global health disparities.

Wednesday 13: Biotech meeting.

Friday 15: Family Medicine Interest Group meeting at noon ACB 150. Their speaker will be Dr. Andy Gray, a concierge physician here in town - great opportunity to learn about this new trend in practice options.
